PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The 3-days AUTUMN MINI CAMP has been organised by a group of educators with experience in both formal and non-formal education in various European countries, including Greece, Hungary and Switzerland. The 3-days AUTUMN MINI CAMP aims at offering high quality educational and recreational services. It is hosted by the “Eurothirama” premises, a hostel at the village of Pentalofos in Evros. Participants will be accommodated in a comfortable natural environment, with special attention on healthy food.

PEDAGOGICAL APPROACH
The foundation behind the mini camp’s educational approach is experiential learning. Participants will learn by experiencing tasks, challenges and real-life situations. The programme focuses on being active, creative and communicative. Through a wide range of choices, we let participants create their own ways of learning about the themes of the camp. These include the following methods and tools:

  • daily interaction in English
  • expression through educational games, dance e.t.c.
  • organised outdoor activities

«Snow Fun

On Sunday 8 February 2009we organize an excursion to the ski centre of 3–5 Pigadia, for children and parents.

The programme for the children includes:

Ski or snowboard classes by professional ski–trainers.

TPicnic onthesnow(children bring their own snacks and sandwiches)

«Lindy Hop classes for beginners»

Focusing on the use of the body as a means of expression (body coordination, balance, movement) «Pantheon Experiential Learning» and«Mamalouka Foreign Languages Schools», organise a series of Lindy Hop classes for beginners addressed to children and teenagers, in cooperation with specialised trainers of the Greek LindyHop community.

Your last chance to start a LindyHop class before summer !

The Lindy Hop is directly linked to the Swing music that was part of American life during the decades 1920 – 1940. Although the United States is the country with most Lindy Hoppers in the world, there are also large communities throughout Europe.

In October 2006 the first Greek Lindy Hop Community was a fact ! The Swiss dancer of swing MichaelWidmer together with Greek and other European dancers established the Greek Lindy Hop Community. Lindy Hop classes and performances are organized both in Athens and Thessaloniki since then.

The programme is made up of 4 workshops of 100 – 120 minutes.
